April Showers Bring Maternity Sessions
May 15, 2017
I loved everything about this maternity session. From the very first in person meeting, we were laughing and joking, and playing the game of, “You Look Familiar?” “Have we met before?”. For a good part of the meeting we spent talking about dream photos and planning to keep the session fun and natural, and the rest was maybe we met in Montreal? We must have met at University? So we spent the last part of the meeting creeping each other on social media to try and find the connection and still couldn’t figure it out in my head.
During the maternity session we had many laughs and ah ha moments, and Stephanie looked amazing after having her makeup professionally done, complete with false lashes! *she rocked them by the way* Most of my clients must think I have two heads, and maybe I do, but man do false lashes ever make a difference in photos. I make sure that all my clients come to a session fully prepared, so by sending a prep guide in advance, everyone usually has time to follow, and she sure did! It’s so nice, because feeling good about how you look is half the battle of getting nice photos.
I showed Orad and Stephanie a few dresses I have, from Sew Trendy Accessories, made especially for expecting Mama’s photo shoots, and she was hesitant of a few, but once she saw how the photos turned out at the back of my camera, everyone started to relax. Orad, was also the star of this show too, showing off his belly seemed only fair, and we got this super cute shot from it. When my couples get creative, it makes my job way more fun! I always love a challenge, and trying new things, so these guys were totally up for the task!
We gathered up everything, and I found a cheap dollar store umbrella that I had bought for my son Phil to play with and we went and got some super cute shots in the rain to finish off this beautiful maternity session. Turns out, during the session, they thought the photos would be a total flop, but, because they were totally cute and just themselves, the photos turned out better than anyone could imagine.
I am so excited to meet their new baby boy when he makes his appearance, and can’t wait to get them back in the studio laughing and giggling again!
See you soon!
