Le Belvédère Wedding in July Wakefield, Quebec are always stunning, but some weddings leave a mark on our hearts forever. Monica & Jordan’s July celebration was one of those. This wedding wasn’t just about beautiful views and joyful vibes—it was about a love so deep and enduring that it lit up the entire venue. As Ottawa wedding photographers, we shoot 30-40% of our weddings at Le Belvedere, and yet, each time feels fresh, meaningful, and breathtaking. Check out the amazing wedding we did in June here.
From the very first moment we met Monica and Jordan, it was like reconnecting with old friends. Their energy matched ours perfectly—we were laughing, joking, and vibing immediately. But their April engagement session in downtown Ottawa sealed the deal. These two flew in from California just for a few days, and we lucked out with gorgeous weather and a fiery sunset over the city skyline.

An Engagement Session in Downtown Ottawa
Knowing that their wedding would be nestled in the natural beauty of Wakefield’s Le Belvedere, we planned the opposite for their engagement session. I always recommend mixing up the vibes—if your wedding is nature-heavy, go for an urban feel in your engagement photos (and vice versa). We ended up dancing to a live DJ at Major’s Hill Park, completely by accident. Clearly, the universe had cast extras in our love story film without telling us! Feel free to watch the video on our insta here.
Jordan, originally from Australia, is pure sunshine. He’s got golden retriever energy—endlessly cheerful, warm, and radiating joy. But as Luc quickly noted, he might actually be more like an Australian Shepherd: clever, loyal, and just a little mischievous.

Planning a Le Belvedere Wedding Timeline
One of the things we love most about Le Belvedere weddings is how easy and seamless the planning is. The team is a dream to work with, and the venue flows perfectly with the natural rhythms of a wedding day. From the stunning cliffside views to the private getting-ready spaces, every detail supports beautiful storytelling.
Planning Monica and Jordan’s wedding timeline was actually so much fun—we got to dream up all the possibilities. The excitement was palpable. We knew the day would be beautiful… but what we didn’t know was how deeply emotional and powerful it would become.

The Week Everything Changed
Just days before the wedding, Monica reached out with devastating news: Jordan had been hospitalized and diagnosed with a brain tumour. There was a real possibility he wouldn’t make it to the wedding. My heart shattered. I cried. I hugged my kids tighter. And then I began thinking about how we could pivot and support them no matter what.
Every day, I checked in with Monica. She showed the kind of grace and strength that most people only read about. Jordan, being the kind soul that he is, told Monica the wedding should go on—even if he couldn’t be there. Just try to picture what that kind of courage takes.
But then, by some miracle, we got word Thursday/Friday that Jordan was well enough to attend. There were precautions, of course, but the wedding was happening. And it would be a celebration like no other.
The Ceremony | Pure Joy and Powerful Vows
I knew I had to stay strong, keep things light, fun, and joyful—but when those personal vows started, the tears just flowed. I literally had to signal Mel to focus on the crowd because I couldn’t keep up. Having a second shooter saved us—we captured so much emotion, and I am so grateful for that.
Jordan’s joy radiated from the moment we arrived. When I asked him how he was feeling before the ceremony, he just said, “I’m filled with joy. I have no idea what will happen.” And that’s exactly what happened—raw, beautiful, joyful emotion from start to finish. When he walked down the aisle, the entire crowd erupted into claps. The love in that moment? You could feel it.

A Stunning Le Belvedere Wedding Reception
Prep in the morning was an absolute blast. Monica popped champagne with her girls, styled the cutest parasols, and had a dream floral setup by The Gathering Event Co (Instagram). The bridesmaids wore soft yellow dresses that gave all the springtime joy feels—even in July. I can’t overstate how incredible Monica’s wedding party was. The support, grace, and readiness of her girls was just so next-level.
The guys, meanwhile, were doing their own thing and having an epic time. The photos and videos captured by our team were full of laughter, energy, and Aussie charm. Speaking of which—those Aussies brought the dance floor to life! The groomsmen? Absolute legends. The gals? Had an entire choreographed dance. It was our kind of energy!
The speeches had us all in tears again. Every word was so intentional, emotional, and heartfelt. Everyone there truly felt lucky to witness the day. These two humans bring out the best in people.

Sunset on the Cliffs at Le Belvedere
Of course, we couldn’t end the day without the iconic Le Belvedere sunset session. Every single time we photograph here, the cliffside views take our breath away. It’s truly one of the best wedding venues in Wakefield, Quebec for golden hour portraits. The photos from Monica and Jordan’s session? Pure magic. The kind of magic you earn after the hardest week imaginable.
Even Monica’s grandmothers were busting out dance moves—one without her cane! The first dance was choreographed, Monica did a dress change (always my fave), and we had an impromptu girls’ shoot downstairs that I loved. Jordan, unable to have alcohol, still partied like it was 1999. When we said goodbye, he gave me the biggest, sweatiest hug—grinning ear to ear. That’s the joy I’ll always remember.
