How far in advance should we book your services?
Booking your wedding photographer is a pivotal part of your planning process, and we recommend securing this service as early as possible. Typically, couples finalize their booking once the wedding date and venue are confirmed. However, if you adore our work and style, we encourage you to reach out before locking in your date to ensure our availability aligns with your plans. In essence, aiming to book us 6 to 18 months ahead provides the best chance to secure your preferred dates.
Do you charge for travel expenses?
Travel fees are determined by various factors, including the distance from our studio to the wedding venue. Our pricing includes up to 100km round trip, with a charge of $0.75 per kilometer beyond this radius. If you're planning a destination wedding anywhere in the world, please contact us to discuss creating a personalized package for you.
Bonus: As a husband and wife duo handling both photography and videography, we can share a room, providing additional savings for your destination wedding!
How long will it take to receive our photos/videos after the wedding?
We typically deliver sneak photos and videos within one week after the wedding. Our contract specifies a delivery timeframe of up to 16 weeks for wedding photos and videos. However, we often exceed these expectations, especially for photos, which are generally ready within 4-6 weeks*. Throughout the process, we prioritize delivering promptly while maintaining the highest quality standards. We recognize the excitement of newlyweds eager to share their memories and ensure transparent communication every step of the way.
What is your policy on sharing photos/videos on social media or your website?
What is your payment schedule?
We provide a convenient no-interest, no-fee payment plan option for all our couples. To start the payment schedule, we require a minimum of $500, and you can divide the remaining payments in a way that suits you best. We simply ask that the full amount is settled one month before your wedding day. Our goal is to simplify the booking process by offering this flexible payment plan.
How many final images will we receive?
We believe in flexibility when it comes to the number of images delivered because every wedding is unique. Typically, we aim for around 100 final images per hour of coverage, give or take. Some weddings yield more, some fewer, but we ensure every important moment is captured.
Each image is provided in both colour and black and white as high-resolution JPEG files accessible through an online gallery system. This makes sharing with friends and family hassle-free, without the need to worry about email limits.
Will all my photos and video's be edited?
Let's start with photography. We do not provide RAW images because they are not suitable for use or printing. Instead, we meticulously hand-edit each photo in our editing style to deliver only the best moments from your wedding day.
Now, regarding video, it's a bit different. With every video package we offer, we include the RAW footage. These are unedited and uncorrected files, capturing everything from candid moments to scenes that may not make the final cut.
For editing, we only process what clients select and pay for. We offer Wedding Videography packages as well as "a la carte" options for additional editing services. This allows you to customize your video package according to your preferences. You can see all the options on our pricing page.
Who will be capturing our wedding day?
Grey Loft Studio began because Bethany and Luc love working together, although it isn’t always possible. Fortunately, we have an amazing team who knows exactly how to capture a wedding day just as we would. While we don't guarantee a specific photographer or videographer, booking our premium package (10-hour photo/video) ensures that Bethany and Luc will be together. (our fave!)
Both Bethany and Luc capture photos and videos, and we decide the best fit for each couple after booking. This approach works incredibly well for us and our clients. If we’re already booked on your wedding date, our team of associates steps in. We handle all the editing to maintain our signature style and oversee the booking process from start to finish. This way, you still become part of the Grey Loft Studio family.
Do you have backup gear, insurance, and how do you store our media until delivery?
We have multiple backup cameras available, and our team is fully insured.
Bethany and Luc use Canon R5s with a variety of lenses, and all our cameras, including those used by the team, have dual memory card slots to ensure every moment is captured.
After each wedding, we back up all photos and videos to the cloud and a designated hard drive for each couple. We also keep the original files on the memory cards until editing is complete and the final products are delivered. We store everything for clients for up to six months after the wedding, after which we securely discard the files.
How do you dress for weddings?
Our goal is to always dress professionally and blend in with your guests. Besides the cameras in our hands, we prefer not to stand out. During warmer months, we typically wear all black. In cooler weather, you might see us (mostly Bethany) in a dress or something with a bit of colour.
Can family or friends take photos?
Yes, our contract states that no other professional photographers or videographers should be hired for the wedding. However, if a family friend or member wants to take photos, we’re completely fine with that. As long as they don’t interfere with our work, we actually encourage it. We love seeing the joy people get from taking photos—it’s one of the reasons we’re so passionate about what we do.
Do we need to feed you a meal at the reception?
Yes, to ensure our team can fully execute the day, we require a sit-down meal, just like the guests. Ideally, feeding the vendors at the same time as the head table allows us to stay on top of everything without missing a beat. Rest assured, we’ll be ready at a moment's notice to capture any special moments as they happen.

Our proudest moments are when clients take the time to leave us a review. We're fortunate to have over 130 five-star reviews on Google, filled with feedback from happy clients. Will you work from a shot list on our wedding day?
Absolutely! We don't need a list of every single moment or exact pose, but we love getting creative with our clients. Collaborating with couples to come up with curated ideas or poses is something we genuinely enjoy. For family formals, though, we like to have a comprehensive list to ensure we don't miss anything important!
Working with us includes a workflow system we've designed to automatically gather all the essential details from you before the wedding day. This includes typical moments we usually capture, giving you options to choose from. We aim to make planning your wedding timeline as easy as pie.
