Ottawa Wedding at Restaurant 18 for the lovely Leticia & Danny. There’s nothing more magical than a Downtown Ottawa wedding, and Leticia and Danny’s special day was truly unforgettable. From the breathtaking ceremony at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica to the chic reception at Restaurant 18, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and elegant details that told their story beautifully.
Getting Ready at the Lord Elgin Hotel
The day began at the Lord Elgin Hotel, a perfect setting for capturing elegant details. Luckily, I was able to photograph the wedding details ahead of time, including the invitations, jewelry, and lush florals from Sage Designs. The custom invites were a dream, the florals were timeless, and the bride’s jewelry sparkled with every angle of light.
Champagne popped, a balloon wall brought fun energy, and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. The groomsmen also had a blast getting ready while sharing some heartfelt cards with parents, making for emotional, memorable moments before the ceremony.
An Emotional First Look & A Grand Entrance
Leticia wore one of the most stunning wedding gowns and veils I’ve captured in over 10 years as an Ottawa wedding photographer. The veil alone stretched seven pews long, a true showstopper. Emotional first looks with her bridesmaids and her father had everyone in tears, and the beauty of the day was already undeniable.
Before heading to the ceremony, I may have had to pull out my “mom voice” to ensure guests looked away so Leticia could make her grand limo entrance unseen.
The Ceremony at Notre Dame Basilica
There are few places as iconic as Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica weddings, and this ceremony was truly spectacular. From the shot of Leticia’s dress trailing at the back of the church to the magical moment she walked down the aisle, the grandeur was unmatched.
The full Catholic mass was filled with tradition and beauty, ending with one of the prettiest kisses down the aisle as stained glass light poured across the couple. Following the ceremony, we captured a joyful drone group photo before heading to the next photo location.
Romantic Portraits in Downtown Ottawa
After the ceremony, we traveled to the Pluralism Centre for bridal party photos. The light was absolutely dreamy, giving us a golden glow for timeless Ottawa wedding portraits. Despite downtown traffic, we made the most of every moment and captured the iconic staircase shot with Château Laurier in the background.
Later in the evening, Leticia and Danny snuck away for romantic sunset wedding photos on the terrace at Restaurant 18. The city energy was buzzing as the EDM Festival played across the water, creating a truly unforgettable soundtrack to their portraits.
Reception at Restaurant 18
The newlyweds made their grand entrance at Restaurant 18, followed by heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing and crying. As a photographer, it’s these moments of genuine connection and joy that I love capturing the most.
The evening was filled with dancing, delicious desserts, and an emotional father-daughter dance that left few dry eyes in the room. Watching Leticia’s best friend cry during the dance was just another reminder of the deep love and support surrounding this couple.
It was such an honour to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime kind of love story. Leticia and Danny’s Ottawa wedding was full of joy, generosity, and unforgettable memories.
