Extremely fun and completely on brand with our studio is this Stylish Chateau Laurier Wedding for Sophie & André. We absolutely love working with this venue and the Adam Room is such a beautiful & elegant spot. Sophie reached out after seeing the wedding that we shot last year in the same space for the lovely Shima & Shah. However beautiful that day was, Sophie’s vision was clear and elevating it to the next level was a dream come true.

Walking into the Adam room at the Chateau Laurier felt like walking into a fairy tale. Every detail meticulous placed and the room smelt of fresh florals. The marble plates and the mirrored tables flowed together perfectly. The beautiful height of the arrangements allowed guests to still be able to chat across the tables while enjoying every moment.

Detail Photos for Stylish Chateau Laurier Wedding

Sophie told me how much she loves orchids, so when the lovely team at Wedecor invited me to go to the studio to capture the details with fresh florals, I couldn’t say no! The best way to elevate your total look is to have cohesiveness from beginning to end! However, even without florals these details shine. From the Jimmy Choo’s to the Dolce and Gabana, and the stunning Rolex watch, no shortage of details for this gal.

Getting ready at the Chateau Laurier

It’s no secret I love capturing weddings downtown. From the very first time meeting with Sophie I told her my ideal vision and she ran with it. Everything from vendor choices and room choices! Talk about a photographers dream. The best part about all of this is light. Lighting plays a huge part on any photographers day. Looking for the best light possible is always our goal. When clients care and understand this it makes for some pretty spectacular imagery.

This season I have taken a bit of a different approach to wedding days and engagement sessions. For some reason I got it in my head years ago that having the clients share poses or photos with me (from other photographers) was an insult. However, this year I have actually embraced it. It’s allowed me to jump outside of my own comfort zone and include my clients in the creative process. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want the entire Pinterest Board, but a carefully curated list of inspiration (or I like to call it “permission”) is what I am after.

Holy Name of Mary Parish in Quyon Wedding

One of the important details about this day was getting married in this beautiful church. It definitely added more planning and timing, but I am so glad we did it. Sophie’s parents and Brother were married here so it holds a very special place. I know that Sophie’s mom and André’s grandma were very happy.

Erica, the loveliest planner with the bride and groom in the Adam Room of the Chateau Laurier. A labour of so much love to get to this moment that was so worth it!

Dreamy gold decor and sky high florals, this space is truly romantic and stunning. The Adam Room at the Chateau Laurier never ever disappoints!

Quick Outfit Change with a side of FUN

Quite literally the most fun thing to do. When these two mentioned changing outfits we knew that we needed to follow along and capture a few fun moments. Let me tell you, it was totally worth it. I didn’t even want to eat dinner because I was so excited for this part. By the time dinner came I wasn’t even hungry. My amazing second shooter Sam captured a few blurry (trendy) images while I got the regular ones. We used direct flash and no flash, all the benefits of having two photographers.

André’s white suit, oh my gosh. It was so much fun. Spilling wine on it later wasn’t but it was so great to get a fresh shirt and be part of the outfit change. For anyone getting married, I always recommend the groom has a second shirt (or outfit) to change into. The sweaty wet feeling isn’t that fun!

Sunset around the Chateau Laurier on your Wedding Day

We didn’t get much of a sunset, but it didn’t stop us from strolling around, sans bouquet, for some beautiful outfit number 2 photos. Everyone know’s how much I love champagne, well I think that’s one of the many reasons why we meshed so well.

How beautiful is this second look. Quite literally obsessed.

Forever thankful to this beautiful couple, vendor team, and our own team. This day went off without a hitch. Honestly it ran so smooth, even with a busy day of events. My heart will always have a spot for Quyon and the girl who used to pump gas <3
