White & Gold Wedding Fairmont Montebello with Solange and Laurent on a sunny summer day, filled our hearts with so much joy. To be honest we weren’t sure if this day would go ahead. Solange and Laurent believed that getting married was most important and so they went full steam ahead. Sunshine, love, and laughter flowed throughout this entire day and it felt good to be at what felt like a “normal” wedding. Despite everyone wearing masks, that didn’t stop my mouth from hurting from smiling all day!
This was our team’s first wedding at Fairmont Montebello and we were a bit excited. We showed up over an hour early to scout out all the best locations and to get a real feel for the space. We were greeted by the wonderful Erica, the wedding planner for the day. She showed us the rooms and we got settled quickly. Working with a wonderful planner really takes the pressure off. We don’t feel like we have to coordinate the whole day which is nice.

With the limits being extended to 250 people for indoor reception for weddings in Quebec, we were able to have about 85 guests. This number includes vendors. Erica and Nancy from Wedecor wanted the room to look amazing of course. To keep social distancing in place, they added extra “empty” spots to fill the room. A trick I never would have thought of! Imagine a big beautiful room that looked empty, so it’s something to consider if you are planning decor arrangements.
Familiar Wedding Vendor Faces is way more Fun for everyone
Seeing so many familiar faces after being in lockdown for so long felt really nice. As entrepreneurs we are all trying to make the best of what we have. It’s really amazing to see everyone we know and love. Luckily, just caught Taryn on her way out from finishing makeup. The lovely ladies from Showpony were doing the final touches of hair when we arrived. Our team went to set up for ceremony and reception. Exciting because we got a sneak of the beautiful set up. Sunset Photo Time at Chateau Montebello
Planning to have photos and videos at Sunset is super important. As an Ottawa wedding photographer and videographer we like to pick the perfect time. Whenever it’s hot, we wait a bit. We can’t have Solange and Laurent melting! We keep our posing light and fun. Doing this really allows our couples to enjoy time with guests and get some beautiful moments to themselves.
