There are some weddings that stay with you long after the last dance, and Sophie & WooJin’s Le Belvedere wedding in Wakefield, Quebec was absolutely one of those unforgettable celebrations. On September 15, 2025, these two tied the knot surrounded by breathtaking views, emotional moments, and an energy that had the entire crowd buzzing from morning to midnight. As Ottawa wedding photographers and videographers, we’ve captured hundreds of love stories, but this day at Le Belvedere truly felt like magic.

Emotional Morning Preparations
The morning started off with so much love and emotion. As Sophie was getting ready with her bridesmaids, planner Erica Irwin walked in holding her bouquet. That single moment set the tone for the rest of the day—tears immediately began to flow. Sophie’s mom and Memère couldn’t hold back their emotions, and it was such a touching reminder of how meaningful these moments are not just for the couple, but for their families too.
Meanwhile, WooJin and his groomsmen had a completely different vibe during prep—full of laughter, jokes, and energy. The boys were having the best time together, and the lightheartedness of their morning perfectly balanced the emotional atmosphere of Sophie’s.

A First Look to Remember
When it came time for the first look, the anticipation was palpable. Standing against the gorgeous backdrop of Le Belvedere, Sophie tapped WooJin on the shoulder, and when he turned around, his entire face lit up. What made this moment even more special was WooJin surprising everyone with a spontaneous dip—something totally new for us! Sophie giggled, got a little caught up in her dress, and the whole thing turned into a sweet, playful moment that perfectly captured their dynamic as a couple.
Afterward, we moved right into wedding party portraits and family photos. This approach—taking photos before the ceremony—has been one of the biggest trends for couples this year. It means less time away from loved ones later in the day, and for Sophie & WooJin, it was especially important because they wanted to be fully present during cocktail hour.

The Ceremony Overlooking the Gatineau Hills
Le Belvedere is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Quebec for a reason. With sweeping views of the Gatineau Hills and an outdoor terrace designed for unforgettable ceremonies, it creates a setting that feels both intimate and grand. As Sophie walked down the aisle, surrounded by stunning florals and the breathtaking valley below, you could see the emotion written across every guest’s face.
The vows were heartfelt, the tears continued to flow, and when they were finally announced as husband and wife, the entire space erupted with joy.

Cocktail Hour & Candid Moments
Because of their choice to do photos earlier, Sophie & WooJin were able to truly enjoy cocktail hour. Guests mingled, laughed, and soaked in the panoramic views while sipping on drinks and enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres. For us, it meant plenty of time to capture candid moments—the hugs, the laughter, and the spontaneous little interactions that tell the story of the day just as much as the big milestones do.

A Team of Talented Vendors
We were thrilled to work with an incredible team of Ottawa wedding professionals for the eighth time this season at Le Belvedere. Familiar faces like Erica Irwin (planner), Luxe Duo (live music), Klava (makeup), Shelby (hair), and Stephan (DJ) kept the day running seamlessly. Having a trusted vendor team makes all the difference in ensuring everything flows perfectly.
An Unforgettable First Dance
One of the highlights of the reception was Sophie & WooJin’s choreographed first dance. Guests were on the edge of their seats, and cheering them on as they moved across the dance floor with ease. It wasn’t just a dance—it was a performance, and it left everyone talking about it long after the night ended.

Golden Hour Bliss
Just when we thought the day couldn’t get more beautiful, the sun set over Wakefield in a blaze of golden light. The sunset at Le Belvedere that evening was nothing short of spectacular. We whisked Sophie & WooJin outside for portraits, and the photos we captured during those few minutes of golden hour will forever be some of our favourites. The light, the colours, and their undeniable chemistry created absolute magic.

A Dance Floor to Remember
The energy carried into the night with a packed dance floor led by Dynamix Productions. And just when everyone thought they’d seen it all, a surprise guest made the night unforgettable—Entropy Entertainment’s saxophone player joined the party and performed Pink Pony Club live with the couple and their guests. It was wild, joyful, and a core memory that everyone will be talking about for years to come.
