Fall Wedding at NAC Ottawa for the amazing Julia & Nick is one for the books. Seconds into chatting with Julia over zoom we vibed. We connected on all things and I just knew that it would be the most magical day. I’ve found over the years after working with so many couples, vision & vibe are what is most important. Taking the most beautiful photos comes from having a strong connection & trust. I can be my most creative when I have time to do so. That is when the magic happens.
The second I walked into this Lantern Room ceremony space at the NAC decorated by the insanely talented Wedecor, my jaw dropped. It was the perfect touch of fall without it screaming it. I love mixture of soft pinks and texture. So many thought they were fake because all the blooms looked too perfect, however, these are real!
Getting ready with the Groom at the Westin Ottawa
What’s not to love about Nick. Not only is he very personable, he’s the definition of fun. I knew that our team would have a blast with him. I loved the large space the used for getting ready on the top of the Westin Hotel. Whenever you have a larger wedding party, having a large space really makes for the best photos & videos. I couldn’t show them all here, but the silly photos of him and the guys are so fun. I actually laughed out loud when I saw them.

What a beautiful suite for this entourage. Everyone looked so amazing as soon as I walked in and the room was quite calm. The quiet before the real fun kicked in. Julia had the amazing Rebecca Rose doing her bridal glam and Carmelina doing her hair. I picked up some extra florals from the Wedecor team to do some beautiful flat lays. It’s how I love to start a wedding day with lots of beautiful fresh florals. Julia chose the most timeless and classic looks for her day. Everything elegance and hints of glam mixed in some fun and you have the perfect wedding day to me!
First Look at Majors Hill with a Castle
Now you know how I feel about first looks, total must. However I wasn’t sure if Nick would cry or be one of the strong silent types, especially with friends and family nearby. Well he took the title of complete WOW factor! Throwing his hands in the air while tossing his head forward in almost disbelief. His future bombshell of a wife standing in front of him. I love watching first looks, I never know what they say till later (we mic him), however magical just to watch.
Hands down Downtown Ottawa is my favourite place to take photos ever. Even though we get rude people who sometimes tell us no if we ask them to move, it’s still my fave. The variety we can achieve by walking short distances is what I love most. Architecture, trees, sunsets, all my favourite things.
