June Cumberland Belle Wedding for Amanda & Mark with the most epic sunset photos at Petrie Island Beach. Filled with love & joy this day is perfect! Seconds into chatting with Amanda & Mark at the Ottawa Wedding Show we vibed. Luc and I know Mark from back in the day. Mark went to high school with Luc’s older brother and we often ran into him at parties or events. We connected on all things and I just knew that it would be the most magical day. I’ve found over the years after working with so many couples, vision & vibe are what is most important. Taking the most beautiful photos comes from having a strong connection & trust. I can be my most creative when I have time to do so. That is when the magic happens.
Walking into prep in the morning felt like we were spending the day with close friends. We’re so thankful to have another group of friends hire us to capture their wedding day. Our close friends Jessica & Ken chose to work with us in the fall of 2022 and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a very different experience knowing everyone. I found I could get as bossy as I wanted and everyone just laughed. So much fun at this June Cumberland Belle Wedding.
Amanda got fun confetti poppers that really are a fun add on to the day! It made for some really fun photos. I would suggest however, to get more than one just incase it doesn’t work or people get scared!
Getting ready with the Bride & Groom at the Le Germain Hotel Ottawa
Amanda and her crew were ready to take on the day. Sadly when I arrived hair hadn’t gone quite to plan. I was able to jump into action and find a replacement hairstylist for Amanda that just happened to be in the same hotel. Alison from Bombshell Hair Design saved the day. Instantly I could see how excited Amanda was. However, this is a warning to all future couples that you should always have a trial to make sure you get the hair you want for your big day!
What’s not to love about Mark. Not only is he very personable, he’s the definition of fun. I knew that Luc would have a blast with him & the boys. Whenever you have a larger wedding party, having a large space really makes for the best photos. However, what’s amazing about this location is the cool architectural areas in and around the OAG. Luc was able to take full advantage of all the fun spaces to capture some very candid moments of the guys. Hungover or not, these boys had fun and the final result speak for themselves.

Amanda and Mark opted not to do a first look and it was absolutely so sweet to watch how excited Amanda was skipping & jumping with excitement down the aisle. As I turned around to snap a pic of Mark, Mike, his best man was watching him ever so sweetly. I love seeing just how excited his friends were to see him marry the girl of his dreams. Someone said during the speeches that it might have taken longer than they expected to find each other, but it wasn’t long after that they knew it was forever. They truly complete eachother.
Sunset photos at Petrie Island
Ideally it’s nice to have a variety of options for sunset photos but in Cumberland it’s a bit limited. When researching options I saw that a fellow industry planner did her bridal portraits at Petrie Island and so I immediately knew that I needed to take these two. Of course we had the most magical sunset however, and its so easy to get photos on the beach since there are pathways for easy walking. I would definitely recommend choosing to go here especially for a June Cumberland Belle Wedding.
